RTP/Morrisville Davis Drive TrailConstruction of a 10-ft wide paved multiuse trail along Davis Drive, from Parkside Valley Drive in Morrisville to Kit Creek Road in Research Triangle Park (approx. 5600 lf of new trail). This project will tie into existing trail along Davis Drive at either end, as well as trails along Kit Creek Road, Little Drive, and bike lanes along Parkside Valley Drive. An underpass structure for the NC 540 crossing is included in the project. Approximately 450 lf of trail falls within the Town of Morrisville. RTP will be partnering with the Town on construction of this segment, and the Town will provide maintenance for this segment after project completion.  Panther Creek Greenway & TrailheadThis project involves construction of an approximate 25-30 vehicle trailhead and 1.4 miles of 10’ wide asphalt trail linking a middle school, an elementary school, a town park, and a commercial activity center to residents on either side of a major thoroughfare and Interstate 540, including many high density residential developments. Construction includes an approximate 90’ bridge across Panther Creek and connections to adjacent neighborhoods. This section of Panther Creek Greenway will provide links to an existing short and currently disconnected, grade-separated crossing of I-540; and will also provide connection to an existing grade-separated pedestrian facility at Green Level Church Road, creating safer bicycle and pedestrian access to the schools, park and commercial center.  N Main St / US 401 Pedestrian ImprovementsThis project will consist of preliminary engineering and design, right of way acquisition, utility relocation, and the construction of 0.75 miles of sidewalk along approximately 1 mile of the North Main Street corridor. The sidewalk will fill in existing gaps, utilize the existing Norfolk Southern railroad bridge over US 401 to provide a safe pedestrian crossing along the existing US 401 corridor. The project will continue along North Main crossing at Mill Creek Road to connect to the existing sidewalk associated with the Marquee Station Mixed Use / Apartments Development. Ultimately, the sidewalk connects to the existing sidewalk across from the Fuquay Elementary School on Johnson Pond Road. A crosswalk will be installed to provide a safe crossing for elementary kids.  Beaver Creek Greenway Phase IIThe proposed project will construct a ten-foot-wide public greenway along existing easements between Kelly Road and Apex Barbecue Road and a 10-foot-wide multi-use path along the east side of Kelly Road from the greenway to the western terminus of the existing Beaver Creek Greenway in Kelly Road Park. The greenway will consist of asphalt, concrete, and boardwalk sections as needed. The multi-use path will be asphalt and/or concrete as needed. The project is Phase 2 of the Town of Apex Beaver Creek Greenway. Phase 1 of the greenway has been constructed between Jaycee Park (on NC 55) and Kelly Road Park (on Kelly Road). Phase 2 of the project (proposed) will extend the greenway from its current terminus at Kelly Road Park to the Apex Nature Park on Apex Barbecue Road. A portion of the greenway is currently under construction within the Apex Nature Park. Future phases of the project will extend the greenway to the west to connect to the American Tobacco Trail and to the east to connect to Downtown Apex. The project includes approximately 4200 feet of public greenway along existing easements between Kelly Road and Apex Barbecue Road and 500 feet of multi-use path along the east side of Kelly Road near Kelly Road Park. Project termini will be Apex Nature Park to the west and Kelly Road Park to the east. Apex Same as Sponsoring AgencyApex$100,000.00$30,000.00$420,000.00
