 NC 55 Corridor ImprovementsThe project involves corridor improvements along NC 55 from South Salem Street (SR 1011) to Apex Peakway near South Hughes Street (SR 1158). Improvements include intersection upgrade for NC 55 at South Hughes Street near South Salem Street and lane addition on eastbound NC 55 at Apex Peakway. The intersection improvement will include the addition of turn lanes, new signal poles, mast arms, and pedestrian signalization for one or more approaches. The project includes clearing and grubbing, grading, asphalt paving, curb, gutter, concrete driveway aprons, pedestrian pushbuttons and signal heads, traffic signal poles, and sections of five-foot concrete sidewalk.  Capital Boulevard ImprovementsThis project will complete preliminary engineering and design of street improvements along Capital Boulevard from Spring Forest Road to Old Wake Forest Road (1.1 miles). The design will include preliminary engineering for the widening of Capital Blvd from 6-lanes to 8-lanes, installation of curb and gutter and associated drainage systems, sidewalks on both sides of the street, landscaping, streetlights, and bus stop amenities. Upon the completion of the preliminary engineering and design, the project will be programmed for construction and will also complete the City’s sidewalk network along Capital Boulevard.  Stadium Drive - Complete StreetThis project will complete preliminary engineering and design to implement a Complete Streets vision along Stadium Drive (SR1930) from Capital Blvd (US-1) to N. Wingate St. (SR 1954). The typical section includes three lanes with curb and gutter, left-turn lanes at intersections and driveways, a 10-ft wide multi-use path on the south side, 5-ft wide sidewalks on the north side, wide striped shoulders on each side of the roadway, a pedestrian refuge island, high visibility crosswalks and ramps, and accessible transit stops.
